The "Stillspeaking Money" Program

The national office of the United Church of Christ (UCC) has partnered with Vanco Services, LLC to provide member churches with the ability to accept tithes and offerings using electronic bank fund transfers and electronic credit card transactions. This is all possible through the UCC's "Stillspeaking Money" program.

The First Congregational Church of Pelham has enrolled in this program so church members now have the option to make automatic electronic bank fund transfers to fulfill their pledges. There is no obligation for members to use this option. We are thankful and grateful for your pledge contributions in whatever form they are received. We hope those who choose to contribute automatically will find it more convenient. Automatic contributions will provide a steady and more predictable flow of church funding to better manage our budget commitment to missions, maintenance of church facilities and compensation of our staff.

Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Program
Beginning in January of 2007, members can sign up for automatic electronic debiting of pledges from their checking or savings accounts. Debits can be set up to occur automatically on a weekly or monthly schedule and can be scheduled to start on the date chosen by the member. Members can enroll in this program online by clicking on the button below or by a paper authorization form. If you decide to enroll online you will need the routing number and the account number of the bank account you wish to use for automatic debiting. These numbers are found along the bottom of your checks. The online form shows exactly how to identify them. Setting up debits from a savings account may require you to call your bank to determine the correct numbers to use. If you prefer not to enroll online, a paper authorization form is available from the church office or during church service. This form collects the same information but is submitted to our financial secretary who will enter your enrollment and automatic debit information for you. Our financial secretary will have advanced access capabilities to get reports of each member's electronic contributions for their year-end charitable contribution summaries.

Credit Card Program
At this time we have not enrolled in the credit card program while we assess whether there is enough interest within our church membership to make it worthwhile. If you are interested in the credit card option please let us know by contacting the church office or another church officer like one of the trustees, the treasurer or the financial secretary. If we get sufficient interest we will seriously consider enrolling the church in the credit card program.
